I have been wanting to blog about this topic for some time now. For the past 6 or 7 weeks, I have spent all of my “study time” immersed in the work of Tony Schwartz from The Energy Project.
I am almost done his book called The Power of Full Engagement (not an affiliate link, second book in the list) and it has been one of the most powerful, life changing books I have ever read.
In a nutshell, his work is all about energy management and helping people perform at elite levels by understanding how energy impacts performance. I intend to share more information about his work but for now I wanted to start with a REALLY cool video I found about The Energy Project and how he was able to help a group of high school students tap into their own potential
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you know about energy management already? How do you maximize your work time and your renewal time? Is this your first time hearing about The Energy project?
Wow! Impressive. Thank you for sharing it.
I have always looked time management as a process of productivity management, not so much in scheduling in a left-brained fashion so much as organizing tasks in ways that make sense so that it gets done. This concept of energy management adds another level or facet to that idea.
Good stuff.
Hey Yolanda
Long time!! Hope you’re doing well.
Glad you liked it. Since you are one of the busiest people I know, I’m sure you can see the importance in his Energy Management concepts.
Have a great weekend

Wow very interesting Justin never heard of the energy project before but defiantly will follow up with it sounds like something l could implement in to my daily working life. Thanks for sharing Justin.
Surprised this didn’t get more comments! A new concept to me as well – never heard of energy management – will pick up the audio book because I just too slow to get through them otherwise. I think I still got Stephen Covey sitting on the shelf (… guilty as charged)!

Thanks Justin. I’m really intrigued by the energy management concept but it does make a lot of sense. I just purchased the book Be Excellent at Anything on amazon. Can’t wait to read it.
Thanks

Interesting post Justin. I find blocking time on my calendar to hold for larger projects, like scheduling a meeting with myself, is also a helpful tool. There’s just never enough time. I agreed. It’s important to know your energy levels and plan accordingly. 8AM meetings for me are the worst!

I have never heard of the concept of energy management before. Everything you read is usually based around time management, but when you think about time really doesn’t matter if you don’t have the energy to do anything. I’m definitely going to be picking up some of these tips because I have a little one on the way (due in February 2013) so I’m going to need all the energy I can get.
