I reserve the Inspirational People category on my blog for the select few people who have made a huge impact on me and I simply want to share their story.
Eric Thomas is one of those people. I found his video on an Internet Marketing forum that I visit regularly and everyone was talking about this inspirational speech he gave that really connected with them.
Update For 2012 — Eric now has a book out and you HAVE to check it out…
I watched the video myself and I have probably watched it another 10 times since. Sometime we just need a shot of motivation to get us out of our chair or out of a rut. This video did it for me and I’m confident it will do the same for you.
Make sure you grab his book and read his full story. He will change your beliefs about what’s possible.
Wow! That was inspiring, this guy’s on fire.
Totally! You should check out his site. He’s awesome
Hey Justin
Inspirational video this is a bit of a wake up call of what it takes to make it.
You are walking the walk with the crazy hours you make.
I remember seeing you tape your leesons dead on your feet late at night just craming as much as you can into your day. You are a reminder of how hungry we need to be to taste success.
Thanks for sharing this gem.

Thanks for your kind words Stan. I don’t always believe that “not sleeping” is the path to success but I DO believe that you have to work EXTREMELY hard if you want to separate yourself from the crowd. In some cases, this means bypassing sleep for productivity.
Agreed. I do believe in having some balance in your life (i.e. exercise, meditation, relaxation time, etc.) because it keeps you mentally focused and because we should take time out to enjoy the process.
But, that doesn’t mean you just “sit around” and “kinda” work at it. You have to be committed and focused. The hrs that you dedicate to your craft are hrs that cannot be wasted. You need to be absolutely focused.

I LOVE this talk by Eric. I first came across it a couple months ago and have been watching it ever since. And shared it on my blog today too.
I love the passion and energy in his delivery. And he doesn’t “dance around” any topics. He gets to the point, which I love.
Here are 2 other GREAT talks that I’d recommend watching:

The kingship of self-control, William George Jordan
“the boy was a victim of a blind adherence to the red tape of duty. he was placing the whole responsibility for his acts on someone outside himself. he was helplessly waiting for instruction in the hour of emergency when he should have acted for himself.”
“duty is a hard, mechanical process for making men do things that love would make easy. it is a poor understudy to love. it is not a high enough motive with which to inspire humanity. duty is the body to which love is the soul. love, in the divine alchemy of life, transmutes all duties into privileges, all responsibilities into joys.”
who is this guy and what has he accomplished?
