Thanks for sharing your lists Brad and Karen.

Also thanks to Karen for calling me out. I actually do have a 100 list that I simply forgot to include as a reference in this blog post. If you want to see my 100 goals, check it out here:

Hey Justin,

This is a great instructional video and I especially like the download of the goal setting exercise.

I've done the 101 Goals Before I Die list and included it on my Day 1 of the Just for Today Challenge at my site - it's a very powerful exercise which everyone should complete as it really focuses you to write down what you want to do, be, have in your life.

I agree that determining the most important goals in your life and taking action on them daily is the key. This is very motivating, especially when you cross off things on your list and realize that you are actually accomplishing what you set out to do.

Where's the link to your own 100 Goal List? Care to share?

Great points! I keep my number one goal in my wallet and look at it frequently. I really like the calendar goal writing concept. I struggle with pushing back my goals a day or more when the date has come to have accomplished them but have come up short. In general, they are being achieved which boosts confidence levels and keeps the passion going.

That's right! I remember your 100 list got quite a bit of publicity in one of our member forums. I also know that the 100 Goals list is something people really enjoy doing. I get quite a bit of organic traffic from people searching for "100 Goals". Hopefully the readers of Ignite can use my download and get their own list together!

Hey Garry. 2 great questions!

In general, I knew what my categories would be based on the "pillars" of life so to speak. But what may be a category for me may not be the same for you. I would recommend you break your life into self-defined categories and think about your goals from each perspective! The final exercise in my download sheet gives you a pretty classic example in terms of goal setting.

As for time frames, I would have to say its all based on the situation. In some cases, when I have given myself less time, I was able to accomplish far more than I would have imagined. In other instances, I found myself setting my goal timeframes too aggressively and falling WAY short. Which can impact your self confidence. Having said that, I still like to shorten my timeframes as a general rule of thumb because it forces me to stay "in action" and prevents me from becoming lazy.

Hey Justin

Some interesting points, when you made your lists did you think about how your categories would be setup or did the categories come from your lists?

In terms of time frames do you feel giving yourself more time than you think you need is better or shortening it?
