Peak Mindset Doesn’t Happen By Chance

Last year I did a blog post about the power of repetition and I talked about how I used calendar alerts at 3 intervals per day for “mental conditioning”. Basically, my goal was to maintain a positive mindset and a high level of motivation and drive throughout my entire day. You can check out the blog post here:

I still use this method although I no longer use the calendar alerts.

My most common “go to” strategy for getting myself to feel inspired and motivated is using youtube videos. The problem is, you can search forever and only find a few that actually do the trick.

Today’s post is kinda fun. Below I’m sharing the 7 most common videos I have watched over the past year or so, when I needed a boost of energy or inspiration. You will notice most of them are created by the same person. I hope you like them and please share yours as well:

    Hey Justin:

    I believe this is the best motivational resource anyone has put together in a long time…I watched videos 5,6 and 7 and I am pumped. I don’t think it will be possible to go to sleep anytime soon.

    I love the Rocky speech – how many hits are you willing to take? This is powerful….I am going to keep coming back to this page for motivation and inspiration. I remember when watching Rocky how much his speech to his young fellow was so powerful but I forgot about it until now.

    Thanks for putting this awesome resource together…I will be back tomorrow to finish watching the rest of the videos.

    One fault I have been guilty of is blaming others (family and friends) for getting in the way of doing what I want to do BUT I realize I am the only who controls my thoughts and reactions…these videos helped me to realize what I already knew. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hey Justin:

    As I commented last night I watched videos 5, 6, and 7 and after watching these videos I was pumped and my commitment was thrown into a new zone, in fact I couldn’t get to sleep until 3am this morning and I was back up at 730am raring to go.

    It wasn’t until this morning that I realized we don’t pay enough attention to motivation in our lives, I just finished watching ET in video 3 and 4…that guy is passionate about what he does ๐Ÿ™‚ … if we could all be that passionate (and we can) things would change for the better in our lives.

    You should have a disclaimer on this page….”If you want to sleep don’t watch”…it is like drinking coffee before going to sleep…if you drink the coffee you will not be going to sleep anytime soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I have a lot of pain to go through before I hit success but I am going to do it. Mark this as the day I will start making positive change in my life, my family’s life and in other peoples lives too.

    Thanks again for putting this resource up and bringing attention to it otherwise I would never have thought to use YouTube in such a positive way. AWESOME Justin!

      Haha that’s awesome. The SLEEP disclaimer would actually be a good idea. These videos (and hundreds of other ones) combined with great books and audio programs is what I have used for nearly 2 years to get up every day way before most other people (3am is when I sart most days( and pour hours into my goals and ambitions.

      I’m glad this has helped you so much and now I have some good feedback to maybe put more of these kind of posts together!!

    Awesome strategy Justin, I am going to be getting on board and doing the same thing – I would love to be able to work my way up to the point of getting up at 3am…I am thinking how much I would get done that time of day as there would be no major interruptions. Well maybe the dog. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I need to ask though, if you are getting up at 3am what time are you going to sleep? ๐Ÿ™‚

      Great question! Usually around 930-10 I average 5 hours sleep a night and that seems to be plenty!!

    Hey Justin:

    Just back to watch the last 3 videos – I like the message about going from Interested to committed to fully committed.

    I can only assume you are in the fully committed stage especially if you are getting up at 3am each day. That is where I need to get to but right now I am in the top end of interested going into committed and travelling quickly to fully committed. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Sounds like you are on the right track and gaining steam! I would consider myself fully committed. In my mind, I made the leap to full commitment when I quit my corporate gig in 2008 without much of a plan and have spent every day since growing my biz figuring out how to become more and more self reliant. The journey is awesome
