For a long time I believed in and followed the philosophy of “develop your strengths and outsource your weaknesses”. The basic idea is that the more you focus on doing the things you enjoy and that come naturally, the more successful you will be.
The problem, like anything else in life, is when you follow this philosophy too rigidly. In the past I was so concerned about not doing anything I didn’t enjoy or that didn’t come naturally, that I was robbing myself of the opportunity to grow.
I’ve now started looking for opportunities to turn my weaknesses into strengths and the process is only helping to make me even stronger at the things I was already doing well before.
