Vince Lombardi

Vince Lombardi (June 11, 1913 – September 3, 1970)

Vince Lombardi was an American Football coach whose name was synonymous with winning and motivation.

As head coach of the Green Bay Packers, Lombardi won 5 championships in only 9 years.  That is a dynasty no matter how you cut it.  In ten post season games he is an amazing 9-1.  The one loss coming in his first playoff game.

Lombardi’s popularity was so great in his prime that Richard Nixon seriously considered asking him to run as his vice president.  His players were helplessly devoted to him and his mantra of hardwork and dedication made him a hero to millions of football fans.
