    Hi Justin,

Good video on a serious subject. Controlling my emotions – a lifelong tough one for me. It’s pretty much agreed that there are only two emotions at the base of everything, fear and love. They are underneath all other negative or positive emotions. I can see that. I have a tactic that works very, very well for me…when I choose to use. This is not an advertisement – it just works for me.

I belong to Joe Nunziata’s spiritual group. His focus is success in all areas of life through a positive mental and spiritual attitude. He has an archive of mp3’s and mp4’s. I put those on and listen to them until my funk goes away. I think it works because it fills my mind with positive ideas that replace all the negatiave ones. For me, that’s an easy fix that’s worth its weight in gold.

I guess it’s about finding the tools to change your perception of things…just what you suggested in your video.

Thanks, Justin. Have a great weekend!

      Hey Diane,

Great feedback yeah I use a similar strategy with audio/video input from various speakers and authors who have positive messages that resonate with me. I find it works almost every time I get into a funk

      thanks for your comment 🙂

    Great video man!

Love how you use the iCal pop up to remind yourself about the “conditioning”. I never ever thought about using that, but it would be great for a wide variety of helpful reminders (eat healthy, exercise, calm down, be thankful, etc…)

Thanks dude. Yeah iCal comes in handy all the time because it literally interrupts everything I’m doing…. which is actually perfect for this kind of mental conditioning.

Great presentation as always. Many people can’t take action because of an emotional roadblock, and your presentation addresses that nicely. And I suspect for most it’s fear of failure.

But the text under your video holds the real key to a much broader topic – “when it comes time to take action”.

Of course the successful person knows when it’s time to take action, and then takes massive action. But on the other extreme side of the spectrum I find two types of people.

The first type simply doesn’t know that they’re ready to take action. In some cases it’s “paralysis by analysis”, just plain fear of failure, or any of a hundred reasons. These people have all their ducks in a row but just don’t move forward. This of course is the topic of your video.

The other type of person has had it drilled into them that to be successful they must take action. So they take action before they’re ready and fail miserably. I’m actually seeing more and more people fall into this second group.

Maybe an Ignite Friday for both groups? Maybe something on the order of “How To Know When You’re Ready”.

      Hey Bruce

First of all thanks for the awesome comment. Very insightful and totally spot on. I have personally experience both camps in my life. As I grew my business… I spent a lot of time in the second group and I could have used a bit of restraint…and some coaching.

I definitely think there are a couple of videos… one for each group for sure here. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to hearing from you again!

Great video. You should did hit the nail on the head. Doing the work and not understanding why it wasn’t working was my problem. I never thought of having the right mindset. I fall into the fear of failure type. After some deep
thinking I understood this and I’m starting to work on the mind set part.

It is hard, but I’m coming along slowly but sure. Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel like I’m not alone and helps with the courage to move on.

      Hey Carolyn

Thanks for your comment. NO you are definitely not alone. Pretty everyone is held back by fear at some level. For some people it is more of a challenge than others… but if you make a point of working on it and constantly stretching your comfort zone, at least in my opinion, you will begin to wear away at the fear and become more empowered. Keep it up and good luck!

Hi Justin, thanks for the inspiring video, just curios if you have read The EQ Edge: Emotional Intelligence and Your Success or Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ by any chance?

      Hey Brian

I have not read either book but they both sound very interesting. I will have to check them out.

      Thanks for the tip!
